I was trying to place a steam crane as a non-drivable consist. It choked when I tried to save it as another activity.I now get an error message "Failed to load activity headers".I can still use the activity and route editor, but the error message prevents Train Simulator itself from running. Is there (I hope) a fix for this? Thanks,Fred Goepfert
Hi Fred,Check the .act file for the activity that failed the save properly. You will probably find that it is empty except for a header line. If you delete this file it will probably solve your problem. When the ae chocks when saving it leaves a corrupt file.Regards,Eric
Yes, there is a fix for this.An activity header is the parameter/field "Tr_Activity_Header" that serves as a block that encompasses a bunch of specific parameters/fields; manually open your copied activity file, and you'd see what I'm getting at here, i.e., Tr_Activity_Header is followed by one opening bracket, then the parameter "RouteID" which is followed by its own opening bracket. Your error message is indicating that one of the parameters within Tr_Activity_Header (block) parameter is out of synch.MSTS wasn't sufficiently programmed by its manufacturers when it comes to making copies or 'using as templates'. I've a hunch that it is the parameter "Name", which in itself falls within the parameter "Tr_Activity_Header", that is out of synch, for I suspect its syntax doesn't match the name of the file name of your copied activity; I bet its value matches the file name of your source activity file whichfrom your copied file stems. Be advised, however, that if your copied file name involves spaces in it, then be sure to fully encapsulate your declared file name within the "Name" parameter with double quotation marks (this double-quotation-mark rule applies to any parameter). If that doesn't work, double-check the syntax of the remainder of the parameters that fall within the above-mentioned block parameter. For instance, the parameters "Description" and "Briefing" must each be populated (i.e., with at least one character).Cheers, goonybird
