Good day all. First, let me say THANKS to all of you. I have read your posts and used your ideas and suggestions and you have no idea how much that helped me out. I really appreciate it. Now on to my problem/question.I am still new at creating Activities. I did a test activity on a small route and it worked perfectly. No problems (well, the ones that I found I was able to solve on my own with your help via your posts). Now I have a problem that I can't figure out. I creating an activity for one of the routes that I have and I tested the activity in AE and everything seemed to work perfectly, but when I went to play the activity, things started to go a little crazy. I added additional trains and for some reason, they are not there in the activity in player mode. I found out because I was early. Is there a way to set up times correctly for the trains to meet up at the right times while in player mode? Keep in mode, in the test mode, the trains met up just like they were supposed to. Does the test mode run the trains at a slower rate? I was under the impression that in player mode, the trains moved at the designated speed, but it seems to be moving slower. I tried looking through the older messages, and couldn't find an answer. Can anybody out there help me out?? thanks in advance..Ron
HiTest (sometimes referred to as VCR) mode is partly accurate. As long as there has been no interaction with the Player's train, its times are accurate. Of course this isn't of much help if you're trying to set up the Player-AI interactions. What most do is do a run with just the player (in the run mode, not AE mode) and note times at appropriate locations. Now you can go back into the AE and set things up with the AI's for these times. It can be a slow and sometimes painful process. The other thing I've noticed in VCR mode is that if a particular train gets stuck behind a Red signal, you can be pretty certain it will happen when you run the activity. If this is the case, start tinkering with times, paths, etc, eventually you should come up with a combination that will work. Just another reason to mumble and mutter about MSTS, the AE, the lack of good docs.... For some, this is all part of "the fun".GaryG
Thanks Garyg. That was going to be my next step. Just wanted to make sure there wasn't an easier way. Since I really want this to work correctly, I am going to go ahead and do it the long way. At least I will have a good finished product in the end. Thanks..
Glad to hopefully be some assistance.More items to keep in mind when you develop an activity for distribution.I feel it's good practise to release an a activity that is using all default equipment. Not all MSTS users feel at home finding, downloading then installing non-default items. You can if you want, include separate consists for the adventuresome.Users of activities come in all shapes and sizes and the speed they run their trains can vary greatly. If the design of the activity can accommodate speed variations, there will be fewer calls for help.I find developing and debugging activities very rewarding. Discovering a new, perhaps unique way of overcoming a glitch can give great satisfaction and eventually you will actually turn your baby loose. If you get few, if any, calls for help you will get a good feeling of accomplishment; a job well done.Have fun, take your time, back up often and keep multiple versions. If you get stuck, take a break and get back to it later. Quite often, the light turns on for me when I've been stuck and I go for a walk.GaryG

Thanks again Gary. It took some time, but it did work, but now I have ran into another problem that I am searching the board for an answer to. For some reason, I have a train that keeps stopping at a red light and no matter what I do, it won't trun yellow or green. I don't even understand why the light is red in the first place. There is a train in front of it, but that train is 3 lights ahead of the stuck train before it even begins. I just can't figure it out, but thanks for your help. Thanks to you as well Kevin. Just one question. What's your sig?
