Can't see consists in Act. Editor

HeyI'm trying to do an activity, but, when I add any type of consist to a siding or main, it doesn't apear. What should I do??Redfox_6900, MP47.8 NBEC's Newcastle Subdivision

Hey RedfoxFirst I don't know how much you know about the AE so if I insult your intelegence please forgive.Are you trying to add consists at the correct places? Player consists are only added in the player service and won't be visible on the route map as it doesn't actually exist untill the sim starts running. This consist apears at the start point (last car at the start point).AI trains consists are only added in the traffic area as parts of traffic services the also don't applear on the maps. Both trafic trains and player trains do appear on the map when you run the VCR toy in the lower right conner of the AI window but not until the start time of the service is reached. Static consists are applied directly to the map when you are at the top level of the editor - right click over the place you want it and it should appear as little purple cars which you can move or reverse direction of to place in final desired position. HiButtercup's message was a bit short but correct.Download MSTSSCRZ.ZIP - its description as follows:MSTS Utility For Fixing The Activity Editor. Changes the screen size or removes the keys in the registry. By Joe Smith
What probably happened is you had a crash with the Activity Editor open (how could that ever happen with MSTS?) and some of the Registry settings for the Editor were left in a confused state. The utility will reset the settings to default for you and should solve your problem.GaryG

The file does not work in all cases. That is why I listed the steps to manually edit the registry in my forum.Kevin Arceneaux

REinstalling the editors should, but I am not sure if you can - the way MSTS is is set up I am not really sure how one would do that.I understand editing the registry can be a very daunting task. ONe opps and you computer is screwed. The thing is to TAKE YOUR TIME! Derek added a good way to find the value that needs to be deleted, though I just usually delete them all.I also find it a good time to get rid of all the odds and ends that do not get removed from the registry when a program is deleted. http://www.safer-networking.org/ There is a pretty good registry editing tool there that is free as is Spybot. The gentleman asks for donations and I have as sould everyone who uses the program. 5 bucks is better than nothing (Though I did donate more) and it helps them keep up with the latest spyware and supports the forums there. If you have more problems the forums there are a excellent place to get help.Kevin Arceneaux

Kevin and Redfox, this is just an opinion, but it has saved my behind a couple of times and you might add it to your tutorial as a safety net if you think it worthwhile. btw, got it from one of the hints and tricks sites somewhere, but have no idea who to credit.When working with regedit, if you happen to 'screw-up' and accidentally delete/change something you did not mean to delete/change or otherwise make an error you can't seem to correct .. do NOT exit regedit or Contro+Alt+Delete (to get to task manager) to get out. The only safe (comparatively speaking, that is) recourse is to reach over and pull the plug. If you try to exit it normally, or close it with task-manager, it will automatically write the un-wanted changes to the registry and you are possibly foobarred beyond all help.RobertR .. I downloaded that fixer, but it says that MSTS isn't installedWhat should I do??

At this point I'd reinstall MSTS. There's no way to install just the editors.
