Wow, two posts in one day, I’m up to 3!Has anyone found it advantageous to having all segments within a passing path turn yellow while setting up the passing path? I’ve found by using a combination of the <mouse> and <next> boxes it is possible to make all segments within the passing path turn yellow at locations that previously would have one or more green segments remaining after highlighting and selecting <optional path selection>. This method seems to treat the <optional path selection> (OPS for short) as a toggle. An example would be at sidings where there are no spurs within the passing path. By clicking <highlight> and checking the <mouse> box highlight the first segment within the passing path with the mouse, check the <OPS> box. Highlight with the mouse the next segment (green dot or a little beyond it) and uncheck the <OPS>box. Use the mouse to highlight the segment beyond the passing path. In my experience there is one green segment remaining in the passing path. Go back and highlight the first segment of the passing path with the mouse. Un-check the <mouse> box. Click the <next> button to highlight the last (green dot) segments of the path. Check the <OPS> box then click <next> to the segment beyond the passing path. Check the <mouse> box again and highlight the new green segment, the last segment of the path. Check the <OPS> box then highlight the segment beyond the passing path again. All segments within the passing path should now be yellow. There may be an easier way to achieve the result. This is the method I’ve found. This seems to work as well at passing paths with spurs that would normally have one green segment remaining.Would having all the segments yellow help with standoffs? This may all mean nothing but I thought I would ask since I had not seen it mentioned before. My apologies for giving such a long-winded description. In reference to my first sentence I’d like to thank all that have contributed to this forum over time. I’ve been enjoying MSTS since its debut and have always found answers to questions I’ve had.Robert

RE: Yellow Segments Within Passing Paths

>An example would be at sidings where there are no spurs
>within the passing path.My past findings tell me that MSTS cannot categorize the track layout as a passing path if there were at least a single spur (switch) within the 'passing path'.Using the mouse and next buttons is laborious, it's the only way that I've been able to effect passing paths.Cheers,
