I have been experimenting with locos, reversing to a small consist on another track. That goes fine until the loco tries to drag them forwards. It's like the cars have become welded to the track. Even when I've also linked up with them, I can't move 'em either. Is there a key on the board that frees them up - or is that it? I got a steam loco & tender to negotiate the wye near the yard at Kalispell, then link up with some freight cars in the yard. Big heave - accompanied by a puff of smoke - and that was it. Could almost hear the raspberry blown by the engineer...!Anyone also experienced this? - and if so, were you able to overcome the problem? In anticipation....Chugger 2.

RE: Traffic train reversal.

Yes, I have. Only it was with the default GP38-2 in Whitefish
yard. That one activity that is really big. Coupled into some
hoppers and tried backing up with them. They never ever moved. I don`t know how you could fix this.

RE: Traffic train reversal.

Sounds like it may be a bounding box problem with the
rolling stock, at least that's my best guess. There's
an editor, bboxedit, in the file library. Don't know
the file name off the top of my head, just do a search
for 'bounding box', that should unearth the file.
Install it and check the cars, it'll show red numbers
for the cars with problems. The only hassle is they
have to be checked one by one.
Something else you can try is downloading the
timesaver route, a very small download and includes
updated default rolling stock.Lloyd

RE: Traffic train reversal.

With a gift for understating the obvious...."Have you allowed the brake system to fully charge THEN release the brakes before trying to move the cars???" Getting a stationary block of cars to move on the prototype ain't that easy either.... 10 seconds per car is a figure quoted to me by a BNSF Engineer.... 10-car block, sitting with zero pressure = 100 seconds = just under 2 minutes before the brakes will release....JBD

Aren't the handbrakes on??Sometimes they are, and you can't move the train then...
Press F9 to view your wagons. If one or more wagons are colored red, the are handbreaked, and you'll have to release them... (just doubleclick on them). There is another thing what could be the matter: the braking systems.
If the locos and cars breaking systems aren't the same, the train will not move. You can test this by using ConBuilder, and make a consist with the same loco and cars. If the breaksystems aren't the same, there will be a red, flashing 'Warning: different coupler type!!'This is a problem that happens more, for instance: the NS 1601/1602 from the BST.I hope I've helped you.Greetings,René
