I was wondering how to make acts like the Whitefish widowmaker. How to limit sand and how to make the activity change if you go to fast or slow or clog up the line and stop traffic or a failure of the Traction Motors or don't blow your whistle at a crossing. I am doing a steam act for the Tehachapi Pass. Thanks

--------------------------------------------------------------------- Whoo! Not something I can answer even in a few paragraphs, but I'll
summarize:Most of these things are made possible by the clever use in combination of action events, location events, and time events. I'm discovering a few more new interesting ways to use these all the time.Beyond that, "Widowmaker" tied the aforementioned items very closely to the player engine physics. This was a little unusual, and it made it quite inflexible to modify. The good news was that people seemed to like it anyhow. If you plan to micromanage an activity to that degree of depth, be prepared to test your activity until you are a zombie. I spent three months on the last edition of the "Widowmaker" activity. Its a labor of love, and you'd better love it, cause it sure wont earn you a dime.Learning the design techniques is not that difficult, and a lot of people here will share experience. Its the testing that'll wear you out more than anything. If you have pals interested; get them to playtest. It will help lighten the load. The best advice I can present in the short term is to learn the fundamentals of these event triggers, together with the rest of the annoying AE quirks. Like many folks here, my initial learning workbook was Richard Garber's step by step activity guide. There are others as well. The U.K. sites are a wealth of information on many design details too. Best wishes,
