I keep getting a broken coupler on the z train in Cajon route at the switch at milpost 55.9. Has anyone else had this problem?

RE: Z Train coupler problem

What do you have your settings for in you wag and eng files? Most of us have move the "break" coupler setting from the standard 1.8 up to the 5.1 range.Almost all the routes have a misaligned track that will cause problems with "broken coupler" if you have not strengthened the setting.Bob Edwards

RE: Z Train coupler problem

It is not missaligned track. There are a couple of places on Cajon, the SP side, where the sidings are more than 10 miles apart and you get the "node" problem.Fix the damping values - the units should be N/m/s. Then adjust the couplers to 3.6. This fixed it for most. Engmod is great for this.Kevin Arceneaux

Click on engines, it will load them. On the left find the value you want to change, it will so up in the one line. Edit it on the second to want you wnat. Then shift + right click to highlight all of the eng files and then click change. Do the same for wags.Kevin Arceneaux

RE: Z Train coupler problem

This is the only astivity on that route that I get a broken coupler. I was thinking it might be something in the Activity.

RE: Z Train coupler problem

I don't have the Z train activities and I dont know the milepost, however I noticed on Cajon between Oro Grande and Barstow running railroad east (towards Barstow) on the righthand track there is one spot at a cross-over where my coupler always breaks. It usually happens between my first 2 engines
