Does anybody know where to get real-life timetables for the Hakone, Hiatsu, Orient Express and Scotsman routes? I would like to create activities for these using the actual schedules (period schedules for the two European routes).Searching online I have come up blank (I did find the present-day schedules for Settle-Carlisle).Thanks for any help you can give.
Yes, I got the email with the old Settle timetable. Thank you. Also, I noticed that the Readme file for Jackie Chow's Odakyu Express activity had a URL for the Odakyu Railway: http://www.odakyu-group.co.jp/. In the English section of the site I found schedules for something called a Romance Car, which seems to be a service using the red train, which I believe is the series 7000. I didn't see the local service in English, though. The Kyushu Railway, which I believe is the Hiatsu Line, has an English website under construction. I'll have to see whether Babelfish does Japanese to English. Otherwise, when my older son comes home from college (he's studying Japanese language and culture), I'll enlist his help in reading the Japanese websites.
The Amtrak default(y) route is the North East corridor, from Philadelphia 30th street to Washington DC...........there are many track/station errors, though schedules will be found to construct train activities at www.AMTRAK.com, MARC and the SEPTA (R2 Wilmington/Newark DE. services) websites. The Orient Express route is the Arlbergbahn and is listed under RAIL EUROPE's website for Austrian (OBB) train schedules for the line from Innsbruck-St Anton (or more generally Wein - Buchs/Zurich)Of course the Marias Pass is the old Great Northern (now BNSF) route through Glacier Park and is also under the EMPIRE BUILDER schedules on AMTRAK.comThe Settle & Carlisle is as mentioned under BritRail or whatever sector railway it is now.Hope this helps Doug (bootednancy)
