Is there a good tutorial on making passenger activities?? I can do freight but I have really never tried a activity. What im trying to learn is how to set up a station stop and the load times at each station. Im going to try to simulate a tight schedule. I also run into trouble trying to change the times on the ETA ETD of each station. Any help is appreciated.
Quick and dirty setup of the payer service with a fixed scedule:- Make the path for the player train, make sure you hit the right turnouts at the stations. - Put a check in to stations where you want to stop in the service editor. - Open the timetable window - do not autocalculate! - Double click the arriaval time for the first station, enter the DEPARTURE time and close the popupwindow. Doubleclick the arrival time again and enter the ARRIVAL time. Repeat this for every station. If you make an error and can't fix it go into the service editor and uncheck the station with error, exit and enter the service editor again "checking" the station. - Setting actual load time. Set a number of passengers on the station you want to set, by clicking on the blue mark in the editor. Test by running your train (in the sim) to the station, stop with the blue pole (F6) exactly in the middle of your train and note the loading time, go back in the route editor and adjust the number of passengers. You might have to make a few test activitys if it's long run and the loading times are very important. You'll quickly get a rough idea about how many passengers are needed are needed though. - AI passenger trains, use a combination of scedule, Stopping points, service effiencency and number of passengers to adjust to the scedule, lots of trial and error .A note: The autocalculate only works on "straight" track, any "Y" will fool it or stop it. It's only usefull to get a rough overview.Hope this helps.. PeterEDIT: Make sure you set your start time for your activity before setting scedule, or your scedule might look a little "art".
