I have noticed a few references to using routeriter as a activity packager. What is the general consensus from this forum regarding packaging between the MSTS packager and routeriter? I have a couple of activities ready to upload for my Southrail route and have used the MSTS packager. Feedback from testers indicates no problems using the unpackager. Routeriter was used to package a couple of ativities I did for the Sumpter Valley route and I received e-mails with problems unpacking them? There seems to be two schools of thought out there and although I am not going to be involved in producing to many activities, I prefer route building, they have been asked for in Southrail and although they may not suit everyone, I at least want them to unpackage correctly.Cheers
I think the primary reason the AE packager fails is because the route id and the route folder have different names. If the route folder name is exactly the same as the route id in the .trk file then it will package the activity correctly.Unpacking is not an issue because tsunpack doesn't use the route folder name when the activity is unpacked.Regards,Eric
Thanks for the reply Eric. I guess I have a consensus of one that tells me as long as the conditions you posted are adhered to, using the MSTS packager is ok. Cheers
For what little it is worth, I agree with what Eric said above. I've sent a few up here and probably 20 or so to NERR and so far have not had a problem with the packager. However, as he says .. everything needs to match.RobertR .. ADF-M&RM at http://www.adfrr.com
