I've noticed on some of my activities I've created that the lights - locomotive headlight and signal lights - are gone. The only thing I've attributed this to is too many loose consists, but I've deleted almost all of these, and still nothing... I've gone back and deleted some of my traffic... nothing...I've noticed this on the East River district, and on The M&M Sub. Does anyone know what's causing this bug?-Eric Shock
Do a search on this subject. There is a limit to the number of lights that can be used by MSTS. The most problems seem to be caused by some of the add-on loco packs that are available.Ken
Thanks for the help... however... I got rid of the NALW locomotives in the activity (too bad, as I love NALW's stuff), and I've got the "New SD-70," and two Train Artisan locomotives (UP SD70, CSX AC6000CW). The rest of the consist has always been 103 loaded KCLX Bethgons. This exact consist works fine in "Explore Route" mode.I got rid of ALL of the static consists except for two cuts of 51 empty bethgons at the end of the sim (which have two lights each - the EOT flasher). I have to leave these as the object of the activity is to drop off the 103 loads, and pick up the 102 empties.I went so far as to get rid of all of the AI traffic as well... Still no luck.Could the 102 freight cars, which are sitting a good hour's train-sim ride away be screwing everything up? Even though they only have their FRED as their sole light source? If so, is my only option to modify the WAG file to get rid of this single light? Thanks again...-Eric Shock
Thats the answer.I have removed all the rear lights from the freight cars except things like cabooses and cars with the fred actually modelled. Then I have copied some of the car types (like coal cars) changed the name to have FRED at the end and have the lights switched on all the time. Then when I make a consist that car is at the end. This saves a couple of lines in the WAG file and means that AI trains show there FREDS at night.I also remove most of the lights from dedicated AI locos, and arrange for them to be on all the time.Hope this helpsAndy K
