Hey, My next file to hit train-sim is a pack of Norfolk Southern
activitys. Right now I have just started so if you have any subjestions let me know about them. I have one other question,
Are there any intermodel trains that go up and down the East River
District? That is what route the activitys are for. Hope to here soon and thanks everyone. Andy

RE: Norfolk Southern Activitys

Andy
Mostly coal trains into Southern WV and Northwestern VA.
I will be going to Beckley on the First of April and plan on visiting the Elmore, Princeton and Bluefield yards and do some railfanning while I am there.
I will try to get some good pictures of the type of trains, that go through the area, and will send them to you, if you want them.
I will also be checking on the CSX, between South Charleston and Hinton, WV. The Raleigh Yard, next to Beckley, also.
If you want or need any information about that area, I will try to get it for you. Roger

RE: Norfolk Southern Activitys

Norfolk Southern DOES NOT RUN DOUBLE STACKS thru Bluefield! The tight tunnel clearances will not allow it! That being said, they run LOTS of single stacks and TOFC trains. I have seen them many times! Yes on the grain trains, and lots of Auto Rack traffic too! Lumber, and general merchandise are also well representedOn the former Virginian , COAL is King! I have not seen ANYTHING other than Coal Trains up their!
REMEMBER DOUBLE STACKS ARE A BIG NO-NO ANYWHERE on the East River, or Pokey!!
R.I.P Norfolk and Western,at least I got to know ya
you MAY find me hanging out on the Pocahontas and Radford Div of NSAndy J

Thanks for the info, It`s a little too late though. I uploaded
the activity. But the good news is I did what you said. I don`t
have any double stacks on the route ( No intermodel for that matter ) With that being said, Would you`ll like a Yard activity for
this route?

You could do some double-stacks if someone would do the Piedmont Division.... Especially using Spencer as the starting point (either going North or South). I know that someone was working on the S-line.... Salisbury NC to Asheville, but that is so far down on the totem pole, that it likely won't happen... They don't run doublestacks on that line anyways, or intermodal at all.I remember a friend of mine was going to start on the Frankfort District (Frankfort, IN to Muncie, IN) back when MSTS first came out, but it crashed had to start over, more than a few times, and eventually gave up. -Eric ShockP.S. You can usually find me at MP 333 (Salisbury) on the NS Piedmont Div. or at the shops in Spencer.
