I'm trying to understand this AI switch logic. I've got a trackset designed as per below....The AI trains will follow the red path to point A. The first AI train will continue on the yellow path to the end point. Each subsequent train will wait at point A, short of the switch, until the train directly in front of it clears the end point. Until point A, trains are operating on 5 min headways. It is approx 15 mins distance from Start Point to Point A, approx 15 mins from point A to End Point.Trains on Red/Yellow path DO NOT take diverging point at switch A.All switches are automatic.Blue line represents seperate player path. I'm trying to figure out what causes the train not to clear the switch at A until train in front of it clears the line.-Chris

Is that picture the "loop"? If so my college is across the street from the Merchandise Mart (The Illinois Institute of Art Chicago). To answer your question possible increase the wait time and see what happens.Note to self get that route!Dave H.
RE: switches, AI trains, no signals = appetite for disa
After point A it appears that the yellow line turns to the left and joins another line via a trailing switch which would have to be reversed to allow the train waiting at point A to proceed. If the block ahead is occupied ,as it will be if there are no signals , then the AI wont reverse the next switch until the next block is clear. As the AI wont allow an AI train to run thru a switch set the wrong way, it simply stops until the switch can be reversed. Its just about impossible to run AI trains without signals, unless they run on their own track and dont have to negotiate any switches, either facing or trailing which are set the wrong way.
