Has anybody gotten the activity-ended message to the effect of 'you didn't give sufficient warning to cross level crossing'? Hopefully, I'll remember to post the screenshot I'd made of it come September 29th. It occurred heading eastbound on the Pool Freight (?) activity that came out with Marias3.0 a year or so ago. It happened on the southernmost track to the first level crossing east of the Meriwether stop.I'd read longer ago that MS couldn't get this feature to work, which apparently had been their intention.Cheers,

If you don't want to blow the horn, do a search on CrashProbability. You should find messages that discuss how to cure this "problem."Bert

I'm posting two screenshots: the first shows the instance mentioned in my posting above, i.e., eastbound; the other, westbound.http://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/Bayou/4804/ a fictitious network serving London, Weymouth, and points in between

RE: activity ends due to no warning sounded at lvl cros

Crash Probability is set within the RE crossing properties. Need to go into the route, select the crossing (orange boxes), right click it, and set Crash Probability to "0" (zero). Route developers are the ones that set that. There is I think a *.dat file that can be edited...can't be sure on that. I set my crossing (on Hoodoo) to zero.If this is too complicated...keep your eye open and pay attention and blow that horn. Good Luck!Kip

Kevin, would you then have to do a tdb rebuild after changing the world file? Seems like it wouldn't make any difference on something like this, but with MSTS the way it is was just wondering since I've never tried it.RobertR .. ADF-M&RM at http://www.adfrr.com

Hi,After changing the world files for Crash Probability, there is no need for a TDB rebuild. I have done it several times. Workes immediately.Dick van den HovenPrevious Topic | Next Topic – image 6

Cheers, folks. I'm puzzled that I got booted out of my activity because I'm certain that I read that MS couldn't get this level-crossing termination feature working in TS. (And why only a single level crossing thoughout Marias3, as opposed to all of the level crossings?)goonybirdhttp://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/Bayou/4804/ a fictitious network serving London, Weymouth, and points in between

RE: activity ends due to no warning sounded at lvl cros

On rare occasion I've had this experience as well. It does not happen often, and only with certain crossings. I've seen situations where a friends train blew right through a car hung up in the middle of the crossing with no apparent effect, yet I got shut down going through a crossing that had only a posted crossbar, but no signal.
I had not blown the horn, and one or more vehicles were present or on approach. At the time, I guessed that the code engine makes a half-hearted attempt to judge and penalize these situations, but it is not very effective in most cases. Personally, my point of view is that one should treat this simulator with the respect it deserves, and stick to accepted railroad operating practices, which is to say: blow the damn horn and you shouldn't get into a jam.

Furthermore, I've borne no necessity within this thread to have something taken "care of" (if overcoming a problem should be what folks altogether presume my questions here to amount to). The nature of my curiosity here was to learn if anybody else has gotten that kind of (supposèdly impossible, i.e., non-existent) game-ended message, of which I eventually! got around to posting screenshots here. By the way, I'm one of that type who'd certainly never follow a bossy person's unsolicited, unwarranted, imperative instruction (writing in uppercase letters indicates to one's audience that the author is shouting, for instance).Nevertheless, it'd still be nice if you'd let me know the "what does which", si ça ne vous dérange trôp, vous loup d'isolement -- et d'imprécision? -- vous.Cheers,

No, just about every response states that it can be changed, you have to do in the w files of the route. Then half way down the thread you state tha MS could not get it to work. WTF are you talking about?I WILL SHOUT IF I WANT TO - IT SEEM TO HELP SOME HEAR BETTER! Or are you the type that needs a 2X4 upside the head to get their attention?Kevin Arceneaux

Oo la! Okay then, fine.If you're truly being objective at communicating with us here, then you really ought to re-read this thread, as you're completely missing the point of my query here. No offense intended, you shared nothing worthwhile with me in all your messages prior to #13 here in this thread; so, your shouting, which stems from those very previous responses of yours, is aimless. Your swearing and violent wit are far too clever for me. Believe me, Bébé/e, I may be grey-haired, but I'm still too swift for anybody to 'knock my block' off. (Because of your visciousness, I can't guess as to why you chose Wolf as some alter ego of yours over wolverine.)My bit about "MS" in message #10 here refers to Microsoft's lack of luck at having gotten that particular game-ends feature successfully/properly packaged into their launch of the current version of TS.G'Day, and cease your foolishness by the way.http://www.geocities.com/BourbonStreet/Bayou/4804/ a fictitious network serving London, Weymouth, and points in between
