Hello to all,I'm new to this part of the forums, so be nice! LOL. I'm having a problem with this activity. At the first set out at Elkridge, I get to the reverse arrow, slowly move forward and wait for it to disappear then back up, but the turnout doesn't turn to the siding. I've tried a number of times to get the switch to work but no good. How do I make this switch manual instead of auto? I went into the AE, but couldn't find how or where to do this. Thanks.Mike

RE: N4B5 Savage Switcher 1 for USA1A

I got this activity and all of the others in this series to work. They're an excellent set of switching activities for an amazing route. I particularly appreciate the manual switch indicator lights.Because of the automatic switches that are part of the route and that can't be changed in the AE, you have to follow the author's instructions regarding reverse points very carefully. I initially had a problem with N4B3 because I wasn't that careful about triggering the reverse points. You might be able to go into the RE and change the switch to manual, but you'd probably disrupt paths and might corrupt the signal system. NEC4 is such a complex route, I personally wouldn't make any changes in the RE...Bert

Bert,Thank you for the answer. I have followed the plan to the "t", it's just those pain in the #*% reverse arrows. I'm going to give another shot later. I also agree, these are fine activities, this is the first time I've had trouble with any of them.Mike

I just ran it again, still the nothing. I move forward slowly until the arrow disappears, then reverse and the turnout will not turn to the siding. This stinks!Mike
