I was running the Canton05 activity and encountered a problem with derailing when leaving the Logan wye. When my train would be part way over the switch exiting the wye, it would break in half. The front half of the train would jump over to the other track and the rear half would be rolling along the other leg of the wye trying to catch up. The activity would end with a derailment. Before this happened, I noticed that the switch leaving the wye would not align itself either automatically or manually correctly for my train to pass over it. I think this is what caused the derailment. If I stop short of the switch, uncouple the engine from the cars and pass the engine alone over the switch, I can then throw the switch manually, back up and recouple to the cars and proceed forward to the interchange with no derailment. I guess my question would be what causes a switch to not align itself automatically or to not be able to be manually thrown in some instances? Thanks for you help.
