I'm trying to set up a passing AI train that overtakes my player train (just after the player moves through a mainline crossover onto the other track). To eliminate as much of the time factor as possible, I've tried to start the AI just behind the crossover I'm taking, with the AI staying on the same line. In testing, I've got the AI starting several minutes after the player passes through the crossover. However, as the player approaches the crossover, I'm getting a red signal, even though I'm routed through the crossover onto the other track. I can only assume this is caused by the AI train's emminent arrival; if the AI train is not set up, with only the player train in the testing activity, all is fine. I cannot tab through the red.My question is, is there a certain timeframe (that anybody knows of) that a player train must be past a point before an AI train can populate that portion of track? Is this a matter of the AI train needing to start at least 2 or 3 signals away from the player's path?(I hope this explanation makes sense...it did in my head, but sounds awkward here...) I'm working in Marias Pass 3.1, at MP 1152, same crossover I was having coupling problems with earlier (never give up!).Thanks,MC
I am not too sure what you are trying I think you are trying an overtake...What I did is I routed my player train into the siding but put a reverse point and then another back again on the Play path. That made the AI train blow right past me.Of course one thing I did notice is each route seems to act in its own way so what may work on one may not work on another. FYI you do not have to back and forward your train, just stop let AI pass and continue..BobFlorida Railfan Page http://www.geocities.com/Kentucky86.geo/Boston MBTA Railfan Page http://www.geocities.com/BostonMBTA
Thanks, Bob - yes, I'm using the double reverse point trick at the point of convergence, but my problem exists at the beginning (divergence) of the siding; I'm taking the siding with my player train, and a few minutes later, just before the entry to the siding, the AI starts (player train has already fully entered the siding). With the AI scheduled to start, I can't get a past a red signal at the point of divergence. Take the AI train out, no problem, green light.MC
