I am creating a activity on the whitefish 2 route. I mamke both my player and AI paths the same way. when sidings come do the begin passing path. Then go through the highlight route and check the optional box for each begin siding area. But then when I run the little walk through in the editor the AI trains don't use the siding enough and my train has to wait on 3 on coming AI trains. Can I make AI trains have a lower rank or status.

It seems in this route signaling done this way, so AI always has priority over player's traffic. You can adjust your and AI timing so you will pass each other simultaneously without a stop. But in this case AI will always go through the main track and you always will be redirected to the siding with 40mph speed restriction. If player's timing is critical (for example to meet real Amtrak schedule) it becomes pain in the neck.
If you want AI to stay on red and wait for you on the siding, spawn some traffic ahead of you on the same player's path. It will clear "green street" for you.

The VCR ("little walk-thru," as you put it) in the AE is notorious for being inaccurate, to put it politely. Don't always go by what you see there. Try playing the actual activity to see what REALLY is going to happen.MC

RE: Why won;t the AI take the siding.

MSTS follows the three lights ahead in giving the green to a train. Try to run the train against the floe of traffic, usually they have less signals between the two points where you can get the AI train to cross infront of you. Or try the double reverse points method. The Playback in the editor is worthless. ESP if you edit the traffic file. If you do you can save, reopen the activity and get a beter idea of what is going to happen. You reallu have to save and reopen between each run of the playback. Om the whole, however,it is worthless.Kevin Arceneaux
