BUT after 6 seconds et stops, because of: "coupler broken". What does that means? Is it because the signals are not correct? Or what is it?Looking forward to here the answer. It is driving me gracy.Hans from Denmark Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

You are taking off too fast apparently if it breaks in only 6 seconds. Set your locomotive durability from FRAGILE to DURABLE. And easy on those takeoffs, especially if you have a heavy load. Also when coupling to cars, make sure your speed is under 5mph, or you'll break couplers or have the cars off the track. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-19-01, 01:38 AM (EST) 2. "RE: Coupler broken after 6 seconds????" I have to say, that it is not the answer. Because it happens when i drive with the Dash9 alone. No more cars at all. Just the locomotive. And it only happens in those activities i make at route i self has constructed. It works fine en one of the already excisting route. Perhaps i will try with another consist, and see, if is only that consist that are the problem. Thanks anyway Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-19-01, 06:01 AM (EST) 3. "RE: Coupler broken after 6 seconds????" I agree. I can't seem to get past Cutbank from Shelby. Just east of Cutbank I always break a coupler.. Not happy. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Aug-07-01, 12:08 PM (EST) 9. "RE: Coupler broken after 6 seconds????" There is a known problem with that particular switch near Cutbank. Assuming you're creating your own activity, run on the other track, and you'll avoid the problem. Or so I've been told.Dave Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-19-01, 07:14 AM (EST) 4. "RE: Coupler broken after 6 seconds????" somewhere on these message boards or download sites are instructions for increasing the break strength number for couplers in the eng and wag files.
i reset mine from 1 or 2 to 3 and coupler breaks are gone!
look thru the archive messages at train fan site for the thread on the fix. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-20-01, 08:08 PM (EST) 6. "RE: Coupler broken after 6 seconds????" I think you are all barking up the wrong tree. I had a similar experience and determined that this happens when an AI train starts at the same location and time as your train.KingJPW Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

"when an AI train starts at the same location and time as your train."no, this is my own activity, there are just AI trains comming toward to me, not the same way.also it happens, when i delete all the AI trains.it always happens at the end of a switch, when the left trail comes together with the right trail.not otherwise.

Aug-06-01, 04:49 AM (EST) 8. "RE: Coupler broken after 6 seconds????" I made a Whitefish Gas Spur Turn and came into Columbia Falls went right toward the short line track and went around the wye and stopped to back down the far leg out to the GAs Spur to setoff the cars but my headend went out on the Main Track and when backing up the Computer Controlled switch would line under the cars or units and Cars would go one way and the next car the other way.
I bounced back the other way and took a run at it and pulled a drawbar.
Did this in Whitefish a few times as well. Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
