I read a few times over the last two years about people losing the ability to see loose consists in the activity editor. Never paid much attention, since it never happened to me.My youngest son is autistic, 13 years old, and has been doing very strange things with the geo extractor, route editor, and activity editor for two years, which requires frequent clean up to fix his computer.
Typical of a lot of autistic kids, Mike has mental handicaps combined with unusual skills, so he actually can create a new route from scratch, EZstuff it and lay track and place scenery, then create activities with AI traffic where the objective is to crash Thomas the Tank Engine into one or more of the AI trains at really high speed. His handicap is that makes him a clear and present danger to the computer itself, about once a month I have to delete his trainsim folder and copy mine over to his computer on the LAN after he creates a hundred new routes with 500 new activities and then deletes and/or moves the wrong files.Fortunately I've been hacking computers for a long time, and with Ontrack Fix It 3.0 to repair the system registry I can usually undo whatever he does to his system. Not this time.He got the problem two days ago, managed to fill his 80gb hard disk to 79.7 gigs with all the new routes and assorted ace textures scattered all over the place, and to top everything off he got that failure to display the consists in the activity editor problem. No idea how he did that.So I cleaned up his disk, got him about 25 gigs free space, scanned and defragged. Then I ran Ontrack to clean, repair, and defrag the system registry. No dice, activity editor still wouldn't display consists. So I went to the file library, downloaded mstsscrz.zip by Joe "jtsdadinaz" Smith, and ran the msts-scrz.exe, and chose AE fix.Just like magic, Joe, his activity editor now works correctly.I just wanted to say thanks, and let you know your work was not wasted!
