I keep derailing at 21-22 (not 23+) mph and then I get to Summit Switch, set out the car, get back on my train and can't get permission to pass the red signal. Or should I be more patient?Specifically the derailments were just beyond signal 3444 between Cliff and Rowan and between signals 3546 and 3556 between Marcel and Cable. Did the signal 3444 one twice in the same place. F5 display said 21 mph. Used unmodified consists.fwbryan

RE: Trying to Help the TD2 Car Manager, but....

Too many Emily Post types kicking around here is the most likely reason why you're not getting any response. Everyone is too polite to say "what the *&^%$#@! are you talking about?!"I probably couldn't help you in any case, since I don't do traditional type activities, and I don't buy payware routes. But if you specified which route and which activity you're talking about, somebody might be able to check it out.

Hee-hee, you need to borrow my computer glasses so you don't strain your neck with them bifocals, Kev. Look again, it was 48 hours and 15 minutes between posts. EDIT:Wait a minute, now I'm squinting at the damn thing, caught the date, missed the AM PM. 36 hours and 15 minutes? Anyway, Sunday evening to Tuesday morning, not what I'd call impatient.

He either gave up in disgust or we scared him off, I guess. You're the activity expert, any idea of which route/activity he was talking about?

RE: Trying to Help the TD2 Car Manager, but....

Popping off again without the facts. I won't hold my breath for an apology; Gods do not apologize. If you had done your research based on the station names I mentioned (Marcel, Cable, Summit, etc.) and looked at your downloaded timetables you would know what I was talking about. Don't you support payware territories? Frankly I am getting just a little bit bored with the psycologicaly-challenged on this board. Grow up, or stand aside and let mature adults use these boards for the purposes for which they where intended. (e.g., Help, inprovement to MSTS, etc.) Children, you may continue your juvenile sick flaming if you wish. I will not give you the sanction of the victim by responding. I am too busy trying to recover from a stroke.fwbryan

RE: Trying to Help the TD2 Car Manager, but....

Hee-hee, what a dickhead. I just love some of these jagoffs coming in and asking for help without being specific about what they're asking about, and then get pissed about somebody asking for clarification. Trying to Help the TD2 Car Manager, but – image 4As I said, too many Emily Post types who are too polite to ask what you're talking about, and assholes like you are the reason many people who might be able to help are too timid to respond."If you had done your research based on the station names I mentioned (Marcel, Cable, Summit, etc.) and looked at your downloaded timetables you would know what I was talking about."Apparently nobody else knew what you were talking about since you didn't get an answer, and it strikes me as rather presumptous to expect someone to do his homework to answer your question."Don't you support payware territories?" No, I don't, I make my own routes and activities, and wouldn't buy a payware route unless I saw a screenshot that looked better than what I can already get for free. I haven't seen one yet, I have no idea why people buy Sandpatch - Cajon - Tehachapi based on the screenshots I've seen. Had you mentioned one of those routes I wouldn't even have responded at all. I only suggested you post the name of the route and the activity you were looking for help with, and you chose to take offense at that, so kiss my hairy ass.

RE: Trying to Help the TD2 Car Manager, but....

Hey putz, I know it is TP2, anyone would, but there are quite a few activites that come with it and have been created for it, we do not know WTF one. We are not mind readers, though in your case we would need the pet mind reader to find yours. If you want help, be CLEAR, otherwise crawl back under your bridge.oops, sorry about my first post. And now I retract it. You had a stroke, big deal, lots of people have, quit using it as a play for sympathy.Kevin Arceneaux

"I know it is TP2, anyone would", beg to differ, old bean, "anyone" is inaccurate by at least one, cuz I had no idea. You did bring up another point that I missed, "We are not mind readers".
"Grow up, or stand aside and let mature adults use these boards for the purposes for which they where intended. (e.g., Help, inprovement to MSTS, etc.)"If you want knowledgeable answers about MSTS, the people who know it need specific information. For polite but clueless answers, ask Emily Post, if you don't want to provide specifics upon request, call the Psychic Friends Hotline.

You shouldn't need the number, if they're truly psychic they'll call you when you need them!

Well said, Jim.It is funny how some people who want help just can't figure out that they'd get the assistance they need, and gladly provided, if they would simply ask politely instead of demanding.Guess it takes all kinds...MC

RE: Trying to Help the TD2 Car Manager, but....

I don't even really care about that, MC, Miss Manners can go piss up a rope for all I care. Clear concise communication is all I really need, I don't care if it's polite, demanding, surly, or whining as long as it's clearly understood what, when, and where, and if one of those is MIA a request for clarification shouldn't be taken as an insult. "How dare you not understand me the first time?" is really pretty stupid, discourages people who might know the answer from posting any answers any time, and sure as hell puts the guy on my list of people I'm not gonna try to help in the future.I don't even give a rat's ass about "Thank You!" afterwards, coming back with "roger", "10-4", or any equivelant of "transmission received and understood" at least lets me know I was heard. Best thing is a "no, that didn't work, but this did and now it's fixed" or whatever, the whole point of these forums is being able to search thru posts and find answers. "Please" and "Thank You" make some people happy, but when I'm searching for answers "Here's the problem" and "here's what fixed it" are far more important to me. Everybody's not me tho, so your mileage may vary.
