Looking at player controled consists, there appears to be two places where a start speed can be entered: the activity file and the service file. Which one (or both?) needs to be adjusted? Also, what values are used (I tried to adjust rge Auto Train activity for Sandpatch by puting a '15' in both files and the consist started at about 43 mph)?
If you type in the number, the sim rejects it for some reason known only to MSTS. Use the up and down arrows.Kevin Arceneaux DEFAULT IS FOR DUMMIES Lone Wolf Activities Forum on www.3DTrains.com
I think I read somewhere it is impossible to START a player consist at less than top speed. You can, however, put the train at the end of a siding, then have the player roll it into the station - yard area, then the speed limit will activate. This is why, I believe, a lot of routes have a siding, spur or extension at both ends of the run. Not real sure on this; it bears checking, I do remember a developer saying the above to be the case. Don't know either how far the train has to travel to overcome the max speed limit starting condition.Bing
No, I can get them to start at any speed using the arrows. You have to be carefull of sidings and things of that nature near the end of a route, it can screw up the signalling and give you the never ending red. I have seen it in Sandpatch and P&WV.Kevin Arceneaux DEFAULT IS FOR DUMMIES Lone Wolf Activities Forum on www.3DTrains.com
