How do you write up the work order for an activity? I can get the window to show up, but cannot add specifics to it. I'm refering to when you hit F11, and you get a list of what cars go where. Thanks

RE: F11- view work order

How does the action events know where everything's going unless you've imput something? When I got the action events window up, I see the drop-down list where you choose the action. A second window pops-up and says to choose a siding. Right click or left, nothing. I had to exit the editor to reset and start over. Obviously missed something somewhere.

Got them both, but no info on this subject. The problem is at a siding off the mainline, that continues as a branchline for another mile or so before reaching two sidings. I have gotten as far as being able to click on the green siding indicators for those sidings. Still nothing on the F11 tho'. A greater problem is back on the siding by the main, where most of the consist was left, prior to moving down the branchline. On this section of track there is no green slashes, so somehow, the info that cars A to Z have to be dropped here, before running down the branch line, has to be communicated. I could use location events, but I would really like to see it turn up in the workorder, especially since the drop here,is the very first action of the activity. Thanks for the info,PW

Paul, in the top of the action window you have to choose what action you want done on that siding, being p/u or dropping off cars or whatever. Then you have to click on add car.Kevin Arceneaux

RE: F11- view work order

Ok, at the first siding, It has no name and no marks, green or otherwise, to click onto. As the first action of the act take splace here, I'd like to get it into the work order. Any thoughts?

RE: F11- view work order

Yes sir, and it works like you said, just not on a siding with no name. Maybe I should put a location event here and tell the user how to procede at that point.

In the action event when you choose that siding, it will ask you to name it.Edit
I think that name is for that activity only.Kevin Arceneaux

RE: F11- view work order

Go into the activity editor and click on a "new" action event. Select "pick up cars" from the drop down menu click "add" select the car you want to pick up (you will have had to already have placed the loose consists on the siding.) The editor will give you box in which to describe the pick up point if it already does not have a name.RegardsEric

Here's the situation, the player train goes right, off the main into a siding ,halfway down its length. The train is too large to take all the way down the branch line, where there will be some switching to do. 2/3rds of the train will be left on the siding track a few hundred feet up from where it entered. The locos and cars to be switched, procede to the end of the line, picking up a new set of cars, and reverses back to where the original 2/3rds still sit. The sidings have the green marks, that will work. The original siding the player train entered from the main, has none, nor is it named. But, I ain't defeated yet! Thanks Kevin and thanks Eric. Hopefully I have enough to go on.
