Hello all,
I just uploaded Version 2 of my TV-6 activity. In response to numerous comments, I have greatly reduced the required downloads. There is also a list of zip files in the README file. Also, I have included all the traffic consist files to assist those who want to make changes. If you want to use them, make your changes with AE or ConBuilder and manually install them. Thanks for your patience until I was able to fix things. Thanks also to those who responded with constructive suggestions. If there are any errors or omissions, please let me know and I will fix it as soon as I can. Thanks
Tim Jones

RE: TV-6 Version 2 released

Tim,Thank you for taking the time to improve your route. The list of required *.zip files is of considerable help. However, a list of directories where the *.zip files are to be installed would have been of more help.
Although I haven't yet checked all the required *.zip files, I have found that some files do NOT have a default or pre-defined installation directory. The directories in these cases has to be created manually, and their names HAVE to match the activity directory names in order for the activity to work.
However, if directory names are not supplied, then the required names can be determined by trial and error (guess directory name, run MSTS and note error messages). Or, run Route Control (or possibly Route Riter) to list the names of missing directories.Cheeers.

RE: TV-6 Version 2 released

Most times when the zip is unziped it creates a folder name the same as the zip file name. I used to use Aladin's free unzipping program when I was on 98, now I just use the native one that came with XP. when creating the packages for uploading I set it up so the folder would unzip inside the one the unzipping program creates. This way there is no question what the folder name should be and it will be consistant with the folder names I used to create my activities.Kevin Arceneaux

RE: TV-6 Version 2 released

I've seen zip files that create subdirectories on their own for cars, but,I've never been able to get them to work without physically moving all the files to the \TRAINS\TRAINSET directory. My suggestion would be that if a zip file puts any of the listed cars into a directory other than \TRAINS\TRAINSET, simply move all the files there.

RE: TV-6 Version 2 released

Let me clarify that a bit.....what I mean is...If the zip creates a lot of subdirectories....take the directory containing all the .WAG, .S, .SD, etc files and copy it to \TRAINS\TRAINSET. Haven't found anything else to work.

RE: TV-6 Version 2 released

I never unzip to the trainset folder. I alway unzip to a folder on my harddrive called trainstuff. There I do my editing and modifying fo the files before I move them into the trainset folder.Kevin Arceneaux
