RE: runaway

HiI'm assuming that it would be a moving train with its own power
because the grades in the CF to WF area aren't really bad enough to
cause a runaway normally.I think you may be out of luck. With Permissive/Restrictive signals
you might have a chance but I'm pretty sure none of the signalling
in that area will let the AI Dispatcher give you permission to enter
a block that is occupied by a moving train. He/it will only give
permission to proceed into an unoccupied block. There will always
need to be one empty block between you and "the runaway".You would have a chance if you found an area where there are
Restrictive/Permissive signals. These will allow you to enter an
occupied block without the fatal "Passed a Red Signal" termination.Hint - Kicking Horse Pass has fairly long sections of Single track
with Restrictive Signals - these do allow you to pass although
normally restricted to 15MPH but they don't terminate the Activity
even if you're running faster. The only problem I forsee is (and I did try it) is when you attempt
to couple to a moving and powered train you're following, you may
trigger the "Collision" termination of the Activity.Lots of Luck
GaryG

do you think it would work if the runaway was on the Kalispell line sience there is no signals , perfect for a notch 8 runaway gp38 all because of a engineers mistake of grabbing the trottle instead of the break?
