Ok, been playing around with this. Starting a CR trailer train from east of Marion. What i am looking for is to run a route with busy traffic. my first AI train was going to be an NS mixed freight north bound so the east bound CR would get a red light at Marion and have to wait. Also looking to get a South bound CSX during or after the NS, just to hold up the EB CR. My problem(sorry if anyone is lost)is that when i start up the activity the NB NS and SB CSX spawn and run across the diamonds at Marion, but i never get a red light. I tried to click on the signals in the AE to set them, but this doesn't seem to work. And i didn't see any other way to do this. Any idea how to get signals on indy at Marion to give CR EB/WB trains a red if AI traffic is in the diamonds?? will c.April 1st, 1976. Worst april fools joke ever.

RE: Indy activity question

All I can say is route your player path completely away from AI paths, at least on double trax, on single tracks, schedual AI trains to run accross the single track part BEFORE the player train reaches the signal for that stretch of single track. ie., you have say 2 signals before the double track merge to single. (last signal is of course the one right before the merge)Make it so the AI train is well into the single stretch track before the player train reaches the last signal, and according to the timing and length of AI train, assign a "waiting point". That may signify that the single track stretch will be clear for an x ammount of time that you assign the player train to wait. Therefore the signal for AI reads green, and the player signal reads red, and you have to stop and wait for the AI to pass. Do this for each conflict of track right-of-way on encountering oncoming trains(AI) You just gotta outsmart the AE in thinking the player train is not going to run on the same track that the AI train is assigned to run. Ive done this only a couple times, but i may be doing it the hard way, or there may be something else i did that I didnt realize that made this work!! Its only a suggestion though. Good luck!

RE: Indy activity question

Ok. can give it a try. seems to work with what i have done so far. On the East side of Marion, the tracks are not long enough out side of town to clear the approach signal. meaning the players train will spawn JUST outside of the interlocking. which would not give the AI trains enough space/time to move in front of the players train. the only way i have gotten around this is to spawn the AI trains at the same time with the players train. and having them spawn almost onto the interlocking would make them run across you before you could move. works but signals would be green for the players train with AI trains in the interlocking. Only way around it would be to lengthen the tracks to the East from Marion to add another signal or two so that you would see a red when the AI train is going thru the interlocking. i think, i have no idea, i could be wrong. heheApril 1st, 1976. RE: Indy activity question

You could also maybe shorten your train? Exactly what track/siding are you wanting to start the player train on? Maybe make it just short enough to fit within the area that would appropiately trigger the signal red. Let me know what happens or what ya think.

well i tried it with a shorter train, and it didn't seem to matter. seeing there is really only 1 signal before the interlocking, not sure if i can get it to fly. i think i would need to add more track to the east, and another signal blcok to get the effect that i want. but atleast now i have a few ideas to try. thanks for the help so far. will just keep trying to see what will work.i am trying to start this train on the west bound main line just outside of Marion to the east. let me know if there is anything else that i have left off for someone to help. or maybe this just wont work this way. hehe, who knows. will still keep trying.thanksApril 1st, 1976.
