In my learning process, I will make small changes to a route such as adding a siding here or there so I can make an activity around an exisitng route but with some enhancments for a "service" not originally included. After adding the sidings and buildings, I reopened the the route and it's full of broken routes including those where I did not make any changes. I opened the route editor but couldn't find anythng which would seem to be "broken". I used the Long and Lats from the activity editor to go to the spot that shows a break but don't see anything out of the ordinary. I've even removed and replaced the track to be certain that I don't have an overlap.Any ideas? I'm trying to get good enough to make my own routes and am using this as away to learn. Thanks to those who can help. BTY, I have all the books but none seem to cover this problem. I've tried to fix the broken routes as suggested by Sybex's book to no avail.WallyDenverrails

the activity editor stores paths using the tracks in the route.
the track peices have specific ID codes.
when you change a peice , the code gets changed , and the activity , and hence msts, cannot figure out where to go.look at it this way , a peice of sidewalk you walk everyday is replaced. msts isn't smart enough ( not a dig , just that computers aint smart) to realize it can still walk over the same area even though it is different concrete.hope that's helpful
