When im poking around in the consist editor and i try to open the Diesels menu, the AE reezes and comes up with that MSTS error message (ive seen it many, MANY times). What do i do? ive tried deleting some of the diesels i dont use, but that doesnt help.
Just had this happen recently. Took me three days to find the offending culprit since I downloaded and installed a big bunch of new rolling stock at one time (which is a no-no by the way) If you have Con-builder or Route-Control, you might check first with one or both of them.My method (since Con-builder or Route-Control couldn't find it) was to move all of the new ones to a separate folder (checking to make sure it would work, which it did) and move them in 2 or three at a time until it didn't work. After about 10 times at this, I located the culprit .. still haven't figured out what was wrong with it, but now everything works like it should. I'm not telling you what it was, since it is a private issue and you wouldn't have it anyway , but that was one solution.
I have had this problem also. I found that the second wagon line in the offending .eng file didn't agree with the first line. When I corrected it the file was OK. Con-Builder didn't pick up the error. It apparently only checks the first line against the file name.
