Jul-05-01, 08:58 PM (EST) "SW1200 Whitefish Activity help" I downloaded the SW1200 (Chessie) Whitefish Switching activity as well as the one for the SW900. Both activities had the default GP38 in them though. There was a thread on one of these boards that told you how to get the SW in the activity instead of the Geep, but I cant find it anymore. Basically it said that you had to open the activity and use the "use as template" feature to put the SW in there. Well, I did it on the SW900 one and it worked, and I thought I did it on the SW1200 activity but when I played it the other night, I had the default GP38. OK, so I went in and used the "use as template" to put the SW1200 in but when I went to load the activity I get an error when it is loading the "world and space content" part of the activity and I have to close the game. I even went back and re-downloaded the activity and overwrote the old files and tried to change it and got the same problem. I need someone to help me through it if possible. I still have the SW900 but would like to have it all working correctly. On top of that, it's a really hard activity and drove me crazy the other night! I like a challenge though. Thanks for reading this long winded post and I appreciate any help. Thanks, Chris Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-06-01, 07:06 PM (EST) 1. "RE: SW1200 Whitefish Activity help" You probably messed up one of the default consists, and the game is upset. Reinstall the game using the reinstall option when you insert the TS CD. Backup your addons, especially any modified eng, sms, etc. files you may have added to the default locos (it won't mess with addon locos though). Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-10-01, 07:41 AM (EST) 2. "RE: SW1200 Whitefish Activity help" OK, I reinstalled the game, redownloaded the SW Activities. Now, what do I need to do to have the Sw900 and SW1200 in these activities instead of the default engines? Do you have to "use as template" when you open the act and when you go in to change the locos? Then when you OK out of it, then try to exit the editors, it says the activity has changed, do you want to save? Should I save or no? I did this before and got it to work, I just cant remember exactly what i did. Thanks Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top

Jul-10-01, 08:23 PM (EST) 3. "RE: SW1200 Whitefish Activity help" Hi Chris,In the Activity Editor, make sure your opening the file named "whitefishydsw1200" or "whitefishydsw900". When it opens, also make sure that the Players Service reflects the "...1200" or "...900" in the Service Name (can't remember the exact name, but it will have 1200 or 900 for the respecitive switch engine). If this is NOT displayed, then scroll through the Player Services available and see if you can find the correct Service Name.If you're SURE you have the correct Player Service displayed, then select the "Edit" option. This will display the Service Editor. Check the NAME of the Consist (if you've been seeing the GP38, it probably says GP38-2). DO NOT EDIT this consist. If you do, all the activities using the consist named GP38-2 will be changed. Instead, use the dropdown arrow and scroll through the available list of consists (it's pretty long) until you find one that says "sw1200loner" (for the SW1200) or the "sw900loner" for the SW900).Once you have the correct "...loner" displayed in the Consist window for the associated Player Service, select OK and Save the file.Repeat this process for the other SW (900 or 1200).Close out the Activity Editor and run MSTS to see your changes. You should look at each of the Whitefish Yard Activities and note that the original (default) starts with the GP-38 and the two you just editied start with their respective switch engines.PLEASE, be sure your editing the correct Player Service. If you can NOT find the service identified with the 1200 or 900; or you can NOT find the "sw1200loner" or "sw900loner" consists, then it's possible the files did not get unzipped into the correct folders.Hope this helps ... dds Remove | Alert Edit | Reply | Reply With Quote | Top
