I've downloaded this new activity. According to the readme, it requires file P42amtk3.zip, which is supposed to be available on train-sim, but I can't locate it. I have the driveable Genesis locomotive files loaded, which are different file names. MSTS now crashes, because of this missing file. Can anybody help me out on this?
regards,
Jerry Zeman

Try gen_pak1.zip
gen_pak2.zip
gen_pak3.zip
gen_pak4.zip
gen_chug.zip
gen_ltfx.zip
gen_snd2.zipThe above files contain what you need plus a lot of extra genesis engines and extra features.Regards,

Eric

Jerry,Hope you got things working. Also look at Eric's message, above, about for the Genesis files you may need. Hope you have better luck than I do with these activities.Dave Horton

RE: Can't run SW Chief activity for Raton

Hi Dave;I tried loading the activity again. It kept crashing the sim. Kept looking for SD40eng.sms. I think this is a sound file, but I don't know. Once again, the eastbound and westbound activities wouldn't run either after this one was loaded. I gave up, uninstalled the raton route, and reinstalled it. I didn't get the error messages on the signals, and the westbound activity seems to run fine. But horror of horrors, when I try to run the eastbound activity, the sim starts out with a string of tank cars directly in front of the locomotive. Instant cornfield meet. I have no idea why it does this, and the first time I loaded it, this activity worked fine (except for the cornfield meet that occurs about 5 miles north of French). Something else to investigate. MSTS definitely turns into a learning experience. The problem is it cuts into my HO modeling time. regards,

Jerry,I don't know exactly why you get this problem. I think when you have time delete and reload the Route again. I do not have this problem. As far as the engine sms, it should not be required as the units that are using the SD40 are all AI. I had a problem with another activity but I got it resolved with the help of Eric. I ended up getting a program called Activity Analysis and it told me where the problems were. I would like to help you but my route runs fine. In your TrainSet Folder you only have one SD40 with no CabView or Sound, right? This is the way mine is. If you want to persue this let me know.Dave

RE: Can't run SW Chief activity for Raton

The lack of the engine sms sound file will cause the simulator to crash because even though it is an AI train it still has sound when it passes by the player train. If you are operating an SD40 with no sound or cabview folders then check to see if the eng file used with that engine doesn't contain a computer path to a sms file located somewhere else--like with the ..\..\\gp38 or something of that sort.
