Need some help for this activity. The email address or name of the author was not provided in the readme file. It would be nice if you listed the zip files and possibly where you can find them. I think I have found most of the additional items at Train-Sim but I am having problems finding the TA NickelPlate 50t. Is this part of a pachage???
Also CLW SF PA and CLW SF PB. Is this Columbia Locomotive Works AlcoPA? If not some more info please. I went to the site used now for CLW but there are only two files listed there. Dave Horton

RE: MSTS Raton Mine Train Activity

The TA NickelPlate 50t is part of the Alco RS11 package which was or is a free download from TA. The SF PA and PB are part of a package which is no longer avalable from CLW. Several folks have the file and you might be able to get it from someone, or you could substsitute another PA & PB if you can edit the consist of the traffic file in the activity editor (a fairly simple process).

RE: MSTS Raton Mine Train Activity

You've got more courage than I do, Dave.
I wouldn't download any activity that didn't have some readme type document in the "view" portion of the downloadable file that didn't identify the author and give a decent explanation of the nature of the activity and what the user needs so it looks like the maker knew something of what they were doing.
The activity portion of the file library is by far the most bug-ridden. People are doing activities in one day!
How can they put any testing into their work if they're turning out activities at that rate.Good luck in the future and Regards,
Denny

RE: MSTS Raton Mine Train Activity

I am not sure what Dave is encountering, but the file does include a list of needed equipment, and a warning that some of the items may not be available. This activity was the result of a few people asking for a simple activity for the Raton Pass route. It was not meant as a complex activity with setouts and lots of meets. It will take the operator into a less used part of the route, and does include a few challenges to accomplish. This activity is released as public domain, meaning anyone who wishes may alter it, or refine it, or use it in any way they see fit. For those who want a more sophisticted activity, either wait for the complex activities to be written, or feel free to rework this one and add all the complexity you wish.
As for as running the activity, it runs fine on my machine. I suspect it may involve some problem in editing substitute equipment?? I am sorry if you experience trouble, but it runs fine for me, and I have accomplisheed the objective as specified in the briefing. If you find a problem which is unique to some equipment or setup, please post the problem and I will be happy to adjust for that event.
Thanks
Bob Boudoin

The problem I have is, that the activity will not load at all. I have all the required additions except CLW SF PA and PB. These I replaced with like items by using ConBuilder. All would seem good but when I try to run the activity it goes to the "Send to Microsoft Screen" which is death. When using the Activity Editor I get the same result. So I thought I would just wait and see what happend next. Thanks for the thoughts. Dave Horton

Bob,No success. I need to know though are there any additional items that I need to add. When you talk about Justin Cornell GP39-2 substitution does that need to be added to the TrainSet Folder. If so is the one you use the spgp38 or which one at Train-Sim. I don't care how hard the activity is. I have been testing activities for several people. One a highly praised Route Developer and the other an active Activity Maker. So that is not a problem but a challenge. Thanks for you continued interest and help. Any further suggestion or comments would be very welcome. Either post here or by email. Thanks,Dave Horton

Bob,Still no joy. I don't know. I must have a folder named wrong or something. I think I will just quit bothering you and get back to work on testing some activities. The only way to solve it is to know for sure what the Folder names should be and what files are unzipped. I got no offers on the SF PA and PB downloads. Thanks for your time. It is a great route.Dave Horton
