Hey all,Uktrainsim.com is inaccessible. I can't download because too many other people have already today (hate the timeshift). Can anyone direct me to another site with East Coast Main Line activities (other than here, of course)? Thanks in advance,Glenn Windsor, CANADA
RE: Looking for ECML activities (other than uktrainsim)
Hi,Glenn, I have a premium account at uktrainsim.com. When the stuff that you want to have is not greater than about 2MB -3MB, I can download it and send it to you by e-mail. Give a reply if you are interested.Dick van den Hoven

Oh man, reading the header for this thread just made my skin crawl with horrible memories of frustration and futility. Like Dick, I too have a premium account at uktrainsim.com and I pretty much have all the rolling stock and engines that they have. At one time I had the ECML 3.1, Modern England 3.0, Settle & Carslie, The S&C (different from the previous version), and a couple of other like it. I've got all the freight and passenger activities from there as well. I have to admit that there are a lot of really neat and fun sounding activities. But two weeks ago, out of sheer frustration, I ripped them all out. Why? Because I got so tired of going on what literally was a scavenger hunt and the problem is that all the directions are either wrong, out dated, or incomplete. The most common issue was the readme file would go to X site to download the files needed to run the activity. So I go to X site and there's only six or seven files available. Owner of the site says that the file were all moved to uktrainsim. But a serch turns up nothing. Thus I'm lead to believe that either the file never made it or it has been renamed. A couple activities required files from commercial packages which I'm not interested in. Still other activities used files that were only available on this CD or on that CD. Still other activities sent to you specific sites like the one mentioned above. Problems encountered at these sites are: can't read them, the site has been hacked and is suffering DOS attacks, or some pages will load and others won't, or the file links are broken, file not found. Good grief! After fighting with it off and on for many months I gave up. Spending a month just to find one file isn't worth it, even more so when the activity fails because it has a bug in it. So, you want files, I probably already have most of them.Matt

You don't have to sign up and you could download whatever you want. So, that led to bandwidth problems and had to be reduced to now. But don't worry, I have communication with the Tim Booth and he said he will open it up again somewhere next year and the downloading will be similar to UKTS
