When I attempt to view all the diesel engines in the activity editor, it stalls and the "send message to Microsoft" appears. All the others like "electric engines," or "steam engines," or"freight cars" or "passenger cars," work fine. Can someone tell me where the problem lies?
One of your diesel units has an error within it.Re-move the engines you have installed since you last used the Activity Editor. Then re-install them one at a time to find out which one is causing problems. Then fix the .ENG file of the " busted" one.If you need help I can probably find the problem within the .ENG file for you.Tim Kent "Power for You" 96th_Malice
Hi Tim: You said you might be able to help with my problem. Checking with ConBuilder I get the following errors:gp38Cab.sms...................(SOUND FILE MISSING) gp38Eng.sms...................(SOUND FILE MISSING)Can you help me clear up these errors? Thanks for any assistance you might provide.
The engine in question cannot find the two sms files for sounds. You need to check and make sure those sound files are in the sounds folder.Kevin Arceneaux gdapia
Hi: Thank you for your reply. I ran a Con Builder check and was told about 11 files had shape, cab or sound errors. I deleted them all as I determined that I did not need them. However when I check again in the Activity editor, it still locks up, asks me to "tell Microsoft," and throws me out of Train Simulator. Can you help further?
The engines you deleted may have been part of some of the consists you have set up.Use ConBuilder to test your consists for missing files and then either delete those consists or replace the missing files with engines or wagons that you actually have.Hope that helps!Randy
I also use an application called Activity Analysis, along with ConBuilder, which gives some options for replacing or adding missing equipment to consists and activities.I believe that there is a test portion of Activity Analysis on Train-sim.Hobbyokie
