Hello everyone!! I am wondering what would happen if I went into an activity that had a large consist and edited that consist to knock off some cars in order to preserve frame rates. Would the activity fail? My machine is a medium performer and till I can get a new one I just want to try and smooth out the motion. I do realize this will probably not work if the particular cars I do take off the consist are called to be dropped off at some location. I am only wondering on the ones that go from point A to point B with no drop offs. Thank You in advance... nscaler............................
Once you have an activity and its required equipment loaded and verify that it runs properly, you can use the Act Editor or Con Builder to edit consist. I have actually substituted entire consist replacing default items. In fact, I have an activity for the ORR that has quite a lot of non-default equipment that I may copy and change to all default equipment and include instructions to replace consists with whatever you like. The main concern would be the length of the new consist if it must go into some short sidings. You are correct about "cetain cars" that are involved in drop offs and pick ups. That info is recorded in events that are built into the activity. You can edit AI trains and your player train if it is a run through with no drop offs or pickups. You could edit the part of the player train that is not involved in the switching if you desired. Carlyle Thompson ACL Purple and Silver
