Hi all,
I'm a "newbie" with what is probably a dumb question, but I can't figure out what I'm not doing, so I thought I'd ask it here. I'm currently working on my very first attempt at using the Activity Editor. I was going along pretty good on designing my activity, but now I've hit a problem. When I try to play the traffic pattern animation, the clock runs from the point brought up when I click verify starting state, but I cannot get the animation to show my player train, nor any of the trains in the traffic pattern I've created. What am I not doing right? Thanks in advance!J.

RE: Activity Editor Question

check your start time e.g.if its 12.00'o'clock default start time , go to the vcr, click on the button called time, enter 12 in the left most box and click on ok! there it should bring up your train.

RE: Activity Editor Question

After you have clicked "verify starting state", you only have to clickon the button "play" below the screen and the Activity will be played!Haraldh F

RE: Activity Editor Question

Thanks for the replies...but I tried clicking play (after clicking verify starting state, which brought up the start time) and the clock starts running onward from my start time, but my trains and their progress over the route are not shown on the map as they should be. I did this all previously and it worked fine and showed the progress of the trains on the map, but now it won't for some reason.

RE: Activity Editor Question

sorry 'bout that, had my mind on other things. oh well live and learn. one thing you could do is go back over every part of the activity and check it. odds are you've left something pretty important out. Dr Phlox

RE: Activity Editor Question

I'm having the same problem. At least it's good to know I'm not crazy! I have been using the editor with no problems and then all of a sudden I can't see any consists. I searched the forums a bit and saw some posts referencing a registry problem, but I can't find where anyone said how to resolve it.

RE: Activity Editor Question

You can count me in as another who has this problem. It used to work fine, but suddenly one day it just refused to work and hasn't worked since then. The consists are just simply not showing up, and nothing happens when I hit Verify Starting State or when I start running the clock. Hopefully someone will find a way to fix this in the near future.Jordan L.

RE: Activity Editor Question

While on the subject of things not working as they ought to, I am trying out my first activity too. My situation is a little different. There is supposed to be a 'Time events window' when I tick the option under 'Window'. Nothing appears on the screen when I tick this. I have a suspicion that there is something wrong with the software so I was wondering if someone could post an image of what I should be seeing on the screen when I select the Time events window. Also I noticed that the startup page for the Editors and Tools says that it is not covered by Microsoft's technical support. Does this mean that if the problem is defective software I cannot get a replacement or does it just mean that Microsoft do not answer queries about how it is supposed to work?

RE: Activity Editor Question

The answer was just posted to someone else who asked this question above. Run the "regedit" program from the run icon on your start bar. Then go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\Software\Microsoft\Microsoft Games\Train Simulator\1.0\HWRenderer and delete the entry "AE normal view". That should put it back to normal. Thanks to ToJu for saving my sanity.Keith

RE: Activity Editor Question

I had a similar kind of a problem several times. What I found was that the VCR replay would work right after I made the activity but if I made a change or two and then tried it again it would not show all my AI trains(only some would show up). I would exit the Activity Editor and then reopen it and then it would work again. Kind of a pain if you keep making activity changes as you have to keep closing the activity editor and then opening it up again each time.
