I've just uploaded a new activity for Marias Pass 3.0 and default consists. It's a 'normal' Intermodal ride form Whitefish to Shelby: In this activity you will drive an Intermodal train form Whitefish to Shelby. The Z-PTLCHC2 is on it's way from Portland to Chicago and consists of 62 double height container cars. For this part of the journey three Dash niners will do the pulling. In this activity I have tried to create the most realistic setting I could make to my knowledge. A very realistic traffic flow has been created, using the CTC simulation program 'train dispatcher 2' to work out how the traffic would affect this ride. As a result you may (or may not) get long (or short) stops, just like you would in a real ride on this route. In addition to this every signal, switch and train on the route had a small risc of failure in the CTC simultion. These failures (if any) have been put into this activity so your ride may be influenced by them as well. Still. the dispatcher will keep you well informed of the situation and the waiting times you can expect. I advise you to get a good phyiscs update (if you don't have it yet), it'll improve a lot on the realistic feeling... And save a lot along the way (F2)! You can get this activity from the files section or from this locationFrank.
All I can say is... Dang nice job with this, the Z-PTLCHC2 runs a typically Large train, I have seen in out of Vancouver, WA with 120 cars, 5-6 locomotives ranging from Dash 9s, SD60s (the Oakway version) SD60M (BN/BNSF) with some SD40-2s in it. I am heading down to that area with weekend, so I will get you a list if you would like (type of cars and such) if you would like to help along out making some realistic running consists for that line.Great Job, looking forward to your others.

Glad you liked it. There will be other activities but it takes up a lot of time to create and even much more time to test such an activity. I'm very interested in realistic consist list. I'm living in The Hague, Holland, so it took a lot of hard research over the internet to come up with something realistic. On the other hand there is a limit to the train lenghts you can run in MSTS because of framerate and coupler problems.Frank.
I also downloaded this activity. It's a damn good one!!! Thanks for uploading it. I changed the consists to fit my likings and to my suprise there were two of the same consists in the act. Here are a few screen shots showing them passing each other. A great activity I recomend it to all!!
I'm in the middle of the activity and must admit that it's one of the best ones I've seen so far. I'm looking forward to any other work that you do. Good job! Brian
I take it 'CSX' in this picture means "Cutbank - Shelby Xpress"? hehe------------------------------------------------------------I will never let go of the railroad that inspired me to get involved with trains, the UP!
