crashed my Sim right at the start. Tried removing the activities and still no good. What gives? I hope the updated versions are better than this!!

Well sir.Did you read the readme file? Specifically where it states the the activities, services and traffic files should be deleted and that you'll need x-track installed to make this route work.If not I'd suggest that you do that first to make sure it's not an enduser issue.BTW you'll need the latest version of x-track which is version 3.6.

The way that he describes that the sim crashes is the same problem that I had.X-track ver 3.6 wasn't there.I had to do a reinstall of x-tracks ver 3.6 after doing a system recovery.I did that and didn't have anymore problems.BTW Prslman be sure to run the install.bat.You'll need files from the original 6 routes from MSTS as well.X-track ver 3.6 is in the files library.Go to the search engine and type in x-tracks.It'll get you the latest version.

RE: The Santa Fe Marcelline Route.......

Isn't it just amazing???? If it ain't plug-n-play, there MUST be something screwed up with the program. Couldn't POSSIBLY be the end-user!!! LMAOJBD

Jim Duncan....I don't know who the heck you are. or think you are, but I really don't care for your cocky and sarcastic replies. I always follow instructions and follow "readme's". I came on to ask a couple of simple questions and am bashed like this! I am new to this forum and first impressions mean alot to me.....so far I am NOT inpressed.

Prslman Mr Duncan is the man that is building this route. It's still in beta.No one said that you didn't follow directions. We sometimes get in a hurry and may overlook things.I sure as hell did.But it's proven time after time that most folks don't read the readme file thoroughly and when they run into problems they want answers now when all along the answer was right there in the readme file.BTW make sure you have a good set of body armor.this won't be the last time that someone flames you. It's happened to all.Especially folks that's been here for awhile. We just just drive on.

Thanks for your candid reply. I belong to a few message boards and have been flamed by some of the best. Have no fear, I know how to "roll with the punches" and flame right back if need be.

RE: The Santa Fe Marcelline Route.......

You got the reply you got because of the nature of your posts.BTW: it's MARCELINE, NOT Marcelline....In other words, before you make a big flame message (like you did on BOTH of my routes!), how about trying a sensibly asked question, i.e."I'm having trouble getting the ATSF Marceline Subdivision to load and run. I'm getting crashes from this route. Has anyone else had problems? Have I missed something in the installation process?"Now, a posting like THAT will get a respectful, thoughtfully composed response (not just speaking for myself here!).That being aside now....1) Did you install XTracks 3.6? I noticed on the CGW route that I had to copy the XTracks shapes into the shapes and textures directories in that route to get it running. You should try this first....2) Do you have the latest global tsection.dat file in your global subdirectory?3) Do you care to post a listing of what problems you are experiencing and/or the process you followed in the installation? (I DO help people that ask respectfully...)JBD

RE: The Santa Fe Marcelline Route.......

Jim, First, I did not intend for my posts to sound like flaming. If I came across that way, I apologize.
Second, The answer is yes to all 3 questions. I removed the activities, services and traffic files but left the folders. My sim now loads but the route does not appear on my route list. Your assistance is appreciated.

RE: The Santa Fe Marcelline Route.......

You've got a corrupted Path file somewhere. Go into the paths directory and see if there are path files there. If not, you'll need to go into Activity Editor (MSTS Tools) and rebuild the path. What version did you download? Sounds like the problem we had with th e original beta release (0.1)0.3 addresses all the issues with the original paths. If you downloaded 0.1 then definitely get 0.3 and blow away the original installation.JD
