RE: What does this error message mean?

It could mean one of two things. First, you're selecting a track piece that the RE hasn't loaded yet. If you move toward the other end of the piece that refuses selection it'll load the piece connected to it and you can go about yer biz. Or it could mean tdb corruption, if you see the adjacent pieces are loaded and the RE claims it isn't then you've got a small problem with the tdb. If so it's not the end of the world, just another quirk to deal with.

RE: What does this error message mean?

So what Hobart beat around the bush with is that you may have to rebuild the track database.
You are one step away from the rougue blue pole problem!

I've also had the same problem with a long section of track crossing a tile boundary. Does that piece cross a boundary?David.

RE: What does this error message mean?

Jonathan:Next time that happens:1. Exit RE... WITHOUT SAVING.2. Close the Tools and Editors all the way back to the desktop.3. Re-open RE, go to your route, go to that same piece, and the track piece should now select and all should be back to normal.IF you have saved after that message was displayed, you very likely now have a rogue blue pole to contend with. You need to examine your track carefully for blue poles where there shouldn't be any.Andre

I always rebuild after major track workDelete the following*.rit
*.tit
*.rdb
*.tdbGo into the RE and when loading the route click advanced, and check rebuild track database, wait for it to finish (Hopefully no errors)You may have to re-align any dynamic track you are using (I used X Tracks - 334 Miles w/ no dynamic track)I do it as a maintenence to make sure there are no problemsJason Webb

RE: What does this error message mean?

Seems a bit drastic to me. I only get it on long sections, eg 500m straights, quite possibly crossing a tile boundary. Once I move around a bit, it's fine. No TDB rebuilds, quitting, or anything else required. But that's just my experience.Geoff M.
