The CGW crossed the C&NW in Lombard just east of where St Charles Rd crosses from the north side to the south side of the C&NW.
If you're in the area you can still make out the raised embankment where St Charles Rd makes an S curve to go under where the bridge was.Gary S

St Charles Rd crosses the C&NW tracks about 2-3 blocks east of the Lombard Metra stop so if you can find the Lombard depot on a map you should be able to locate that intersection the old CGW embankment would be just north of you at that intersection running at an angle northwest to southeast and should be visible though all the bridge abuttments have been removed and the ROW regraded.Gary S

Its a bridge crossing. This is what it looked like in the early 60's. If you know what to look for the evidance of the route is still there. Do you remember the name of the junk store that was just east of there Gary?

Most of my expirence with that area was driving for a HVAC contractor in that area long after the merger but before the rails were pulled up.
About the only bussiness in the vicinity I recall is a hobby shop that operated out of the old lawn & garden shop on St Charles Rd next to the old embankment.
BTW I'm not sure if you saw it because the post moved down rather quickly but on those bridges you may want to make them terrain objects so that the tracks show upGary S
