Kevin, if you could get some good shots of transformers, HV circuit breakers, capacitor banks, A-frame and other support structures, switchgear cabinets, etc. Also, if you could get dimensions for any of the components, that would help. Thanks for the offer. Be careful!!Cal Rasmussen

RE: Electrical substations

Post or send pics when you get what is needed. I would like to see if they can be constructed from existing textures.Any substation will need chain link fence securing it and the silver bridge texture will work for the support structure.SRV Ron

RE: Electrical substations

Electrical substations – image 6Depending on what you're looking for, there's 3 power substations and an assortment of power pylons in the "Power" section of Stuffitpack2a, all default objects but with the missing/incorrect SD files either fixed or created. Stuffitpack2a is included with RouteRiter 4.0 or available here;http://www.train-sim.com/dcforum/User_files/3d7f41c5199c3094.zip

Jim,
The problem with those is that they are extremely unrealistic. The lattice work in the towers and the textures are horrible.Ron, here are the pictures I promised.Electrical substations – image 8

RE: Electrical substations

I found a few things here at work and will take home and scan. If you REALLY want to learn about substations, we will be holding a class at our office in August:
Substation Operations and SafetyThe key to reducing downtime in an electric utility system is having well trained employees. Understanding the operations, safety, and troubleshooting of a utility’s substations is essential to this training. This three-day training program is designed to provide participants with a working knowledge of substation equipment and their identification and function. Participants will gain insight into the importance substations play in system operations and reliability, which have a major impact on customer satisfaction. The course will cover such topics as: Line coordination
Trouble shooting based on relay targets
Substation Safety
Reclosures
Sectionalizers
Fusing
Trouble shooting safety
Maintaining and building customer satisfaction
Understanding voltage regulators and settings Kevin Arceneaux

RE: Electrical substations

Cal;I have the pics saved. It will be a while before I can work on this. There are open lattace towers in substations around here similar to the ugly attempts from Kujo. When ready, I will model several styles.SRV Ron
