metraup:I don't know how to help you with the world tiles problem. However, over the course of the past few weeks, I've read your posts about the grief you're having with your route building.Perhaps there's something amiss in your technique that's causing you to consistantly have troubles with your routes? Or, could it be a hardware issue? (i.e. not enough RAM, so you're overtaxing it and RE freezes often.)Are you following good route building practice? That is:* ALL tracks completed first.* ALL roads completed next. (In conjunction with scenery placement if desired.)* NO Track Objects (signals, crossings, mileposts) until BOTH of the above accomplished* Saving often.* Avoiding saving with a track or road piece selected.* Regular full backups. If you aren't, I'd really suggest you consider adapting the above approaches. It may not offer as much instant gratification in seeing the grade crossings, signals (and so forth) so quickly, but it does seem to help keep RE stable as well as not corrupting the delicate interaction between the .tdb, .rdb, and the interactive objects.Good luck!Andre Ming
I was having problems with tracks disappearing and discovered that it is the fault of RE! If you crash RE (send/don't send) or otherwise shutdown in the middle of a save then the file you are currently saving WILL be truncated to 1 KB. If you open the file you will find that there is nothing there (track or objects) other than the file identifier.Replace the file with the world file corresponding from your last save and you'll be back in business! Just be absolutely certain that you do NOT do a route save before you do this as your TDB will be changed!JBD
is this Route just not listing? if that's the case is the <Route-name>.trk Present? if that file has been moved/deleted or renamed the Route you had will think it is no longer there!Robert Steskal Philadelphia, Pa
What file suffixes are in your tiles directory? If it's only .t files you've got trouble. The other week I lost all non .t files from a MSTS re-installation. The resulting damaged varied by route but all had RE problems.JohnCS advised I recreate my quad tree and reapply DEM's. Yeah, I lost a lot of terrain edits but the track database is fine and I'm back in the game again.
