Aug-03-01, 06:59 PM (EST) "SidingItem" Has anyone decoded the SidingItem found in the .tdb file?I want to modify the file so the either I move the location where the Siding Name is displayed or have the Siding Name displayed in two locations. It appears that the SidingItems occur in pairs. Each having the SidingName in the SidingName subItem. The SidingTrItemData appears to link between the two. For example, in Marias.tdb, TrItems 2878 and 2879 link and are both labelled Whitefish Siding 4.I haven't been able to decipher the TrItemSData and TrItemRData subitems. TrItemSData has two numeric parameters. TrItemRData has five numeric parameters.I am assuming one or more of these might effect the location at which the SidingName is displayed.Any insights greatly appreciated. "RE: It's in the BINARY track file" The item you're missing is a linkage with the binary database in the route tiles. You'll need to write a C++ program to work on those files since some data is stored in a packed format. Unfortunately, as an MS employee I can't supply the file format to you.I do have some "tutorial" documentation about the UNICODE files including the TRK, TIT, TDB, RDB and all DAT files that helps explain the interactions and what can and cannot be modified without a prior backup.Anyone with a serious interest in that information is welcome to send me an e-mail request.Jim Steven, MCSE
