I've run into a puzzling problem with my Route project, Columbia And Port Deposit(Port Road) I had done a rebuild of the tdb and had to go in an manually reset some of the Dynamic track sections. Everything seemed fine. Started
exploring the route looking for problems, and found one. The train uncoupled between the two locimotives, then derailed at the joint of a piece of dynamic track. Found I could not select that piece of track or the piece of regular track joined at the end opposite the little node button. So moved my tdb out of the folder and went back in to the RE and readjusted the racks to align the joints on these two pieces more precisely. With the tdb out of the way am able to select and adjust the tracks. Appeared to be fixed, Run the treain through this trouble spot and all is honky dory(OK) until the train reaches the next piece of dynamic track. Repeat problem. Fix and run test again. You got it the problem moved to the next section of dynamic track. It would seem that there is one piece of dynamic track somewhere that is the key to this problem. Any ideas on how to find it. I'm not seeing any blue poles. The activity editor does not show any broken paths in the route. The tbd lines are all in place and in line. Could a spur track wih no buffer(bumper) cause this?
I've made sure to add track to any turnouts that lead off into spurs or branches. Any one have an idea what is happening and a suggestion for a fix
Am I going to have to do a complete rebuild of the TDB to get out of this. The stretch of track where this was happening was fine a couple of days back. I just finished up trackwork in a yard that is some 20 miles away but was not having any problems until after working in this yard( Enola Frieght yard, much simplified but still quite large and several pieces of dynamic track).Any suggestions or pointer to a forum thread would be appreciated. It's late. I'll post this and check back tomorrow AMpennsyfan2

RE: Puzzling problem

An old post suggested that tdb rounding errors tend to get out of control on long stretches of track and you can minimize the bad side effects by placing switches every so often. My route is mostly double track with crossovers at regular intervals so I can't speak from experience whether or not this works.
