The subterrainian track in Xtracks might help with this. Check the documentation for Xtracks or contact Okrasa Ghia.Cal Rasmussen

RE: Smoke through shed roofs, how to overcome ?

Hi OldieDaddy,Nice to see someone uses my engine shed and water tank still. The smoke can be stopped going through the roof by using complex bounding boxes which are not permeable. Try looking at Carlisle station in the Europe1 route and turn on the bounding boxes in MSTS by pressing ctrl-+ to see what they should look like. You can then examine the .sd file for the station to see how the bounding boxes were set up.Unfortunately this does not work in the shed in your picture because the roof is too near the funnel on the loco, there has to be enough room between the funnel and the underside of the bounding box for the smoke/steam to vent away.Mike

You might want to try and rescale the height (Y direction) of the building a little bit to give you the clearance Mike mentioned. If you only do a little at a time (remember it will compound) you should be able to strike a reasonable balance between the clearance and not making it look out of scale in height.Martyn T. Griffin

Thanks to all of ya for your friendly and helpful interest & support !
I'm not an object builder, nor a route builder myself.I will pass on your interesting contributions to the concerned folks in the TheTrain.de Forum, where the question arose through backdoors from a danish route builder.@Mike, FYI, the shed/watertank are from the pretty austrian "GESAEUSE" route by Simrudi (only available by CD distribution, but worth it !: http://members.chello.at/simrudi/ ). @Martyn, Cal, rowie : thanks to you too !I found out the issue is even more complex, please look sharply at this screenshot taken on Daniel Mrawek's excellent Unterland2.4 : Lionel Mollard's superb SNCF 141R smoke rythmically "breathes" through solid structures (with bounding box & collision on), you will notice the puzzling visual smoke polygons .
And, as a humourous forum fellow warned, don't touch the metallic pillars of the gravel loader, you might get electrocuted !Smoke through shed roofs, how to overcome ? – image 5Appreciate your constructive spirit, wish ya a nice sunday !Love and Peace
