I know this has been discussed before but in searching through the previous posts I am unable to determine if there was any resolution for the rather annoying behaviour the terrain displays in the pics below. I am presuming that it is something to do with Distant Mountain terrain and the way MSTS handles displaying it at the boundary of visibility with normal terrain. If there's anything other than the bandaid solution of employing objects to possibly camouflage it I'd sure like to hear it. Thanks.
Yep, that's the DM terrain showing up. A couple of options for dealing with this. First, if this is going to be a forested area just ignore the problem until you have all your trees (and forest objects) planted, then see if you can even still see the problem. The other option is to redo your DM DEM with a negative elevation offset. Try shifting the DM terrain down 10 meters and see how it looks, if not fixed try 20 or 25 meters.David Beach.Palouse & LewistonRoute Building 1% Completed Route Mapping 10% Completed Route Photo Map 100% Completed (Now, Can I make the Railroad Profile match the photo map?)

Okay, thanks! A -10m offset for the DM terrain works not too badly. There is a bit of wierdness at the summit of hills outlined against the sky when the normal terrain begins to transition with the DM terrain. Looks kind of like a translucent terrain colored fog until the transition is complete. Anything that can be done about that? It's not nearly as objectionable as the previous "tenting" effect and will no doubt be less noticable once the grass texture is replaced with a granite texture but if it can be further minimized so much the better.
