Pulled the "Hound Dog" local job yesterdee. Called that 'cause there's a lot of work to do between here 'n there, and back... so's a feller's "hound dog tired" by the time you tie'em up. Had a pair of Big'un's on the front. Thought they looked mighty impressive sittin' on the main at Dardanelle Yard, so went ahead and took a pic. Reckon the ol' Switchman's Shanty's seen better days. The MOW crews still uses it to store some'uh their stuff in there now.Well, all fer now. Have a good'un, and we'll see on the turn.Coonskin
What you're looking at:A bit of work has gone into the Dardanelle area... but I'm not satisfied with some of elements yet.The crossbuck leaning against the old Switchman's Shanty was one of those "good idea too bad it doesn't work" deals. Unfortunately, the crossbuck pixelates (ripples) very distractingly when approaching from the southward direction. So, it will have to be removed, leaving the only the crossbuck's face down on the ties.Oh well.Onward we trudge.Andre Ming
Looking good as usual.question: Is that one of the O&W depots in the background I see? They're great models but have you come up with a way to dirty them up any ... to make them fit into our era better? I've got all the depots and buildings released in the O&W series and would love to use them but they just look too darn clean. Noticed the "spic and span" look too. As you'll also note, it's in the background of this shot for that reason. I suppose the only way to accomplish what you're asking will be in a photo program. I intend to eventually weather/reskin items as needed... but I'm a bit overwhelmed at all the work ahead right now to tackle that aspect at this moment. As for the KC&G's physical plant (i.e. in this case structures), I will be developing a standard paint scheme and applying it to most lineside company structures. At that time, I will be figuring out a way to weather the structures. A poor physcial plant as well as poor rolling equipment, will be a "must" to convey the "bankruptcy" part of the KC&G theme. Eventually...Take care!Andre
