Hello!Far as I know, the next version of the L2 has been completed (not sure if it's the total route, or how much scenery is included), but I do know that the construction of the final re-detailed/built 2400 models are the main cause of the route's delay.I've been trying to contact Chris for some 2400 interior details so I can finish up the cars, but I haven't received any response by email or private messaging.

Luckily, I found his telephone number this week, and will drop him a line this weekend to check on the status of the route, and my constant nagging about the 2400's details . I'll also notify him of the new beta-file distribution that Nels approved for the file library.Take care, and happy simming!Kurt

Nhtrain2: The FL9 is as completed as the photo I showed the board in December. I have no intentions of releasing it, so it'll probably stay that way 'till the cows come home.Regarding the release of the 2400s to the general public: For nearly a year, Chris Cyko and I have been working together to create the 2400s. We have researched everything down the the last bolt, tested them until we needed new wheelsets, edited their engine files for realistic operation and worked with other members to create the best model we can. I might be a rude, immature, 2 year old crybaby, as the majority of the community considers me, but I am not going to let Chris, Jimi or Alex down on this project.Stooopid_person:Jimi has since completed the 2400 cab. His version is flawless, and really captures the feel of operating one of these elevated cars. Currently, he is working on the Underground District Line route.metrolover:I haven't heard from Chris since December, but his last email did note that he was very busy. If I do reach him this weekend, I should be able to report the latest news on the features of the next version of the L2. DrJimi is currently working on his Underground District Line route, which will feature custom TSM scenery.Take care!Kurt

About 5 days ago, I received an e-mail from ccyko after e-mailing him about wanting to beta test his route (he wasn't looking for anyone to beta test it at all...), but he told me that he's somewhat looking for someone who can place outlying scenery throughout the route... At this time, he's working on extending the rail network starting with the Red Line (I think) and has worked all the way up to Belmont with a few stations and all the way down to around Sox-35th. Now placing scenery is something I don't know about since I have no clue on how to work RE, nor do I know the Chicago area.

RE: Chicago Elevated Railways

I'm glad to hear about the work on the 2400. I'm always impressed with and grateful for the work of talented people who design our sim material. Wish I knew more about Chicago's landscape. I'm a frequent visitor to Chicago, but I don't have the knowledge to create the scenery. Any Chicagoland designers out there? Running the red line with the Sears Tower and Comiskey Park in the background would be sweet. The shots I've seen in earlier posts from the Dan Ryan are beautiful. Would the red line be attached to the already existing State Street subway route?

Called Chris today - got an answering machine though.....what email address did you use to contact him Franklin? Here's a teaser of the v4.5beta 2400s.....the excellent textures are by skinning wizard Alex Stroshane, and the lighting is by Jimi Ibbett. I did the cars - still need to put an interior in them, though.Previous Topic | Next Topic – image 16Did a little editing to the photo in PSP.....Take care!Kurt

rbundy, I'm sure ccyko continued work north and south of the Red Line's State Street Subway in the route (or routes if he's actually working on the L3 route version).Kurt, I contacted him by his Hotmail e-mail address that's posted in the readme of his creations (that's as far as I can go, as Chris would use this method if anyone wants to contact him). BTW, the 2400 Series cars are pretty hot! Can't wait to drive them on the upcoming L2 route!

Ah! That explains it, I've been trying to contact him with his midsouth.rr.com address. Midsouth.RR service probably fell through...Glad you like the 2400s! Gotta give most of the credit to Alex for that great look.....after all, textures are what makes a model stand out!Take care!Kurt

*Lightly chuckles*....nope. The 2400s will be my last release. Chris has made a set of 2600s, you might have seen a couple posts of them in Lisa Rapid Transit Company colors:Previous Topic | Next Topic – image 21He said they weren't very successful, so I'm not certain if he will release them or not.I will send the TSM files to Chris when I complete the cars, so there may be a chance that he'll modify them into 3200s, although I cannot guarentee it.Take care!Kurt
