what the hell is going on, I take it that the missing files is a sound file for railroad crossing signals but nowhere can I find sound effects to put there, any help will help me out and stop makin me so dam pissy.
Have a look in the USA2 folder in the routes folder of your msts install. In the Sound folder in USA2 there is a crossing.sms file and three .wav files ,sig_barrierc.wav sig_barriero.wav and sig_us_a.wav .Those are the files for the marias crossing bells. I would then go into the crossing.sms file and change this .. ScalabiltyGroup( 3 Activation ( ExternalCam () Distance ( 100 ) ) Deactivation ( PassengerCam () CabCam () Distance ( 100 ) ) to this.... so you can hear it on the train as well as from outside ScalabiltyGroup( 3 Activation ( PassengerCam () CabCam () ExternalCam () Distance ( 100 ) ) Deactivation ( Distance ( 100 ) ) So pop em in the sound folder of the route that's having missing crossing.sms file problems.. jvPS..last minute edit..use wordpad to open the .sms file !!
jv, Thank you so much for this tip. I had been wondering why I did not hear the crossing bells on the NECv4 route and you have just supplied the answer. Since the original NEC did not have crossings, the crossing sms file was missing as were the 3 wav files. I never thought when I copied the crossing shape files from USA2 to also copy the sound files. Again, thanks much for the info.
