The Water Tower tutorial says that when in Template Mode you can move a point, by deselecting “Add” and dragging with the left mouse button. I find that this moves all the points instead just the one being dragged. It also says you can remove a point by deselecting “Add”, right clicking on the point, and pressing the delete button. This does not do anything for me.Any help on these seemingly simple procedures would be greatly appreciated. I am trying to make a structure roof by template extrusion and not being able to do these is a real pain in the butt. Thanks in advance, Bill

This only works before extruding or sweeping to create the part. Click on the point, then, you can drag into position. With the point highlighted, select cut to remove it. I don't think that the right click works like it does in the CAD programs. You will also notice that the lower left working window is the back side of the object. (It's reversed.) This can be confusing until you get used to it.There is a problem in extruding a roof shape in the way the polys maps. It may drop a poly down where you don't want it. Suggest that you make a box with 2 or more sections, texture it, then in point mode select the end points and move the ends down into position. You will get the overhang roof without the problem of the stray poly. There is a bit of a learning curve with this program and very little instructions othet then the tutorial.Later, you will discover how to use the tools to custom texture a surface in which textures can be tiled, rotated, and distorted into shape. This can allow you to create highly detailed objects using small textures.SRV Ron
Use caution when extruding or sweeping. If your template shape has any areas or points that bend in toward the center (e.g. grooves or concave curves) You will get strange results in the resulting shape. Thing like "wings" sticking out from one edge that vary with the viewing angle. As Ron said, if you have a complex template shape, it is best to break it into pieces that don't have any points or lines bending in.I still have some of these "wings" that show on the spillway of The Dalles Dam, but it is too large a project to go back and change it now.Cal Rasmussen Beaverton, OR cal.rasmussen@verizon.netColumbia Gorge Route (Phase 1 track completed. Be sure the 'translate' button (the icon with the arrow) is OFF. Somewhat counter-intuitive since you do want to translate, but the template mode is a special kind of beast and does not mimic the part/poly/point modes.Other template oddities you may run into are that you can only have one template at a time, and it will load into the currently selected view (meaning if you load into the front view, it will end up as a different shape in global coords than if loaded into the top view).
