LAST EDITED ON Dec-15-02 AT 07:55 PM (EST)

The Ohio Crossing Bridge is nearly ready for upload as a kit. I broke it down into several sections which were assembled in a East West orientation. The entire assembly was then selected by ctrl clicking with the mouse. I was able to sucuessfully move and rotate the entire span to a prelaid track. It looks like some 3000 feet of bridge is involved in this completed structure. I had it placed and tested in less then an hour. While I didn't place the WYE switch, I did place the East and West spans on the North end. The pics below were from a test run on my Test Route where I check to make sure everything works. The kit, when ready, will contain the assemblies as well as individual parts for the RE. Also included will be the TSModeler parts. Once uploaded, the SRV Bridge Works will be closed for the holiday season.SRV RonEdit, corrected a duplicate pic

RE: Ohio Crossing Bridge, One Huge Structure

What a sweet piece of engineering Ron, and just what I'll be needing to cross the Ohio River at Point Pleasant from Huntington, WV.Can't wait to get my mitts on it! Dave Mikulec

RE: Ohio Crossing Bridge, One Huge Structure

Just uploaded as SRVOCBrd.zip Should be available in a few days.Follow the assembly instructions if done as the span in the drawings that was sent to me. There is a WYE switch just North of the 540ft span where the viaduct splits East and West in seperate bridges. Some sections North of the WYE span and the WYE section need to be rotated 180*.Individual parts are available to assemble custom bridges. The kit includes TSModeler parts and textures.SRV Ron

RE: Ohio Crossing Bridge, One Huge Structure

Thats a bridge and a half!Too big for me to use when crossing "Muddy Ripple Creek" As an aside, can you export your tsm parts as 3ds files or dxf as well? Would love to try and see if I can get them into gmax.Martyn T. Griffin

RE: Ohio Crossing Bridge, One Huge Structure

Unfortunely, I have the consumer version of TSModeler which doesn't have the ability to export in 3ds or dxf. The textures should be usable for creating the basic parts in gmaxSRV Ron

RE: Ohio Crossing Bridge, One Huge Structure

Gosh, I learn something new everyday????Lived in Huntington from 1980 to 1986, and I never knew you could cross the river to Pt.Pleasant - always thought they called it Proctorville. (tongue in cheek, lol)J. H. Sullivan

RE: Ohio Crossing Bridge, One Huge Structure

I think it depends on who you talk to, or maybe what maps one refers to. On some of my older maps Point Pleasant, Ohio is shown as the crossing point, others have Proctorville referenced. I think the same may apply to the WV side as I've heard it called Kenova, Ceredo (after the coal loader operation there) and South Point Pleasant.I think I'm just gonna call it West Pomeroy.

RE: Ohio Crossing Bridge, One Huge Structure

Actually, I'm known as what is called a finisher. I do house calls and fix furniture for Art Van Furniture customers. Everything from fixing scratches and dents in wood, to touching up leather, to upolstering repairs, and frames and mechs.I have worked with HO scale models, radio control ship models and cad programs while modeling. The original module bridges I built from scratch using photos, drawings, and modeling plastics. The TSModeler ones I use measurements from what info I can get and have models and photos to compare how such bridges are constructed. You can see how this process has evolved by comparing various uploads as I learn what the program can do.I do have Turbocad but have not attemped 3-d modeling in it due to the steep learning curve in using it in that mode. TSmodeler is similar to Aegis 3-D Modeler from the old Amiga days. I do have the DXF files from Draw 2000 of the original SRV bridges but the scale is HO.SRV Ron
